The Easywalker Duo Review

Over the last year I have been using the Easywalker June and even now it is my favourite to use. I find Easywalker such a super company, they have always been so quick to help me out if I have any questions or need assistance. Above all else Easywalker offer high quality products to parents, whether they are after a single stroller or a double. 

Of course for me personally I only have the need for a single, and the June has for filled this requirement perfectly. With this said though, my Mum found herself in need of a double pushchair when Leo's little cousin joined him at Granny's house, when his Mum went back to work after her maternity leave.

I had never really had a look at the double pushchair range on the market before this, but with a list of requirements in mind I began having a look online to see what was out there. My Mum actually suffers with Rheumatoid Arthritis so this was something I had to take into account while on the hunt for a double stroller that she would be able to use with the boys.   

Easywalker very kindly sent my Mum the Easywalker Duo in Berry Red to try out, I was very excited to see how this stood up to the June and see how she got on with it.

The Duo is an all terrain pushchair with big air filled wheels that really can take you anywhere and everywhere. It is strong and sturdy and surprisingly higher than any other pushchair that I have ever come across. It comes in 4 different colours, so if the Berry Red is a little bit too bright for you then why not take a look at:

The Duo arrived in a big cardboard box, very well packaged to ensure safe delivery. I found the set up relatively straight forward as the seats come attached to the frame so all I really had to do was to attach the wheels and open up the pushchair it's self. 

On first set up I soon realised that there was a problem with one of the buttons that is used to attach the front wheel. The first button had pulled down perfectly and allowed me to simply attach the wheel, but the second button was jammed and there was nothing I could do in order to pull it back out in order to attach the second front wheel. Instead of forcing the jammed button I contacted Easywalker, sent in a photo of my problem and also a little video just to demonstrate what the actual issue was. 

In true Easywalker style I was replied to straight away and the Duo was re-called and a new one issued in it's place. I truly cannot fault the customer service that I received and how I was looked after, it was really efficient and fast.

A new Duo arrived within that same week and in no time at all I had it all set up and ready to go, the new Duo was exactly how it should be and I know that these things can happen every now and again. Ultimately it is how the customer and the problem is looked after that makes the experience, and Easywalker really do look after their customers.

First Impressions

The Duo is actually quite heavy when it is all folded up, and I did wonder how I would manage to get it in and out of my Mum's 4x4 as it is quite a weight to lift into her high boot. I knew there and then that my Mum would struggle with the weight of the pushchair when collapsed. When the Duo is erect and ready to hit the road it is a completely different scenario, it is really light and easy to push around, perfect for my Mum when she was out and about with both of the boys. 

I think it is the wheels and the great suspension that make this heavy double a dream to push around. Even with both boys in the seat their weight is distributed and you wouldn't even know they are in there. Leo is 2 years old and his cousin is just about to turn one, so they are not the littlest of boys anymore.

I love how the Duo looks, it is a very smart pushchair and the big wheels open up a wealth of off road destinations that you can journey too. Air filled wheels are one of my biggest loves on a pushchair and are perfect if you like to go out of your typical urban setting. Visiting the park and trekking across grassy terrain is made a doddle and you experience no resistance as you bumble along. 

The quality in this pushchair is apparent from the offset and is sure to turn many heads on your travels. 

I thought it was easy to put up and down, there is a red button on the right hand side of the Duo that you need to push down, and then you need to push the two clips in order to be able to collapse the pushchair and do up the travel safety clip. As I mentioned above, the Duo is bulky when folded and definitely not the lightest of pushchairs. But to get such a versatile pushchair that has the ability to go to all of these different locations that your average double pushchair would flounder, I really think that it is worth it for these features.

Out and about

Going out and about with two little ones can be a mission in it's self so you really want something that can comfortably sit them both. I absolutely love how much room there is in the Duo seats, especially for Leo as he is really getting big these days. Although Leo is putting on size and becoming a proper little boy, he does still rely heavily on being in a pushchair, so Granny definitely needs a double for when Leo get's tired and of course just to keep him where he is supposed to be. Both Leo and his cousin have so much room in the Duo and even though they are sat right next to each other, they have enough distance to not actively bother each other.

Granny does struggle to put the Duo in and out of the car due to her Arthritis, so this is something I tend to do before I go to work if I know she is going to be using it that day. Putting it in and out of the high boot even for me is a mission because of the weight of it, and dropping it on your feet can leave you with a bit of a bruise (I found this out the hard way). Luckily we don't live too far from town, and it can be a nice walk in the right weather so Granny has mainly taken to walking into the town centre with the Duo and taking the grandkids down to the park to feed the ducks.

If you have a big car with a very roomy boot then you should be able to fit the Duo in, Granny has a Rexton 4x4 and it does fit in the boot with no problems at all. 

We have found that we can fit the Easywalker Duo through our front door into the family home, and it can even sit in the hallway when not in use. It fits through most doorways and hasn't stopped Granny darting around the shops.

I am really impressed with how easy it is to get around with the Duo, and with just how much space the kid's both have at the same time. When the pushchair is up and in use it is so easy to navigate and cruise around, it is even easy to push one handed, and I even struggle with that with my Easywalker June. You defiantly forget about how heavy it is when it is collapsed.

The Duo comfortably and safely transports two children, and is such a practical choice for parents of twins or children of multiple ages. You can add on a carry cot or even two. You can use one travel cot and one seat unit. There is a travel solution for every parent of to two little ones, and I know that Granny is really pleased with the Duo for both of her Grandchildren.   

The seat units have 7 recline positions 

One big positive to having a double pushchair has to be having two shopping baskets. I know when I am out and about I often wish I had more space to store things, especially when I have an over filling changing bag it is nice too be able to overload into the shopping basket. Having two gives you so much extra space and is space that has been constructively used to give us practical storage. 

The baskets are generous in size and have zips at the very front in order to extend them further. I have found that we can fit everything that we need for both boys inside them and still have easy access to everything while out and about. Having the two baskets has even given Granny the chance to leave the changing bag at home on occasion depending upon where they are going.

The breaks are so simple to click on and off no matter what shoes you are wearing. I love the simple ease of using these breaks as they click on as soon as you push the pedal and straight back off again when you kick it back up.

Both of the hoods on the Duo are reasonable in size and have an extra extendable sun canopy that you can just flick out when you need it. When you don't need the extra sun canopy you can simply tuck it back under the hood so that it is out of the way.

Putting the Duo Up & Down

As for the folding and un-folding of this pushchair, it really is easy.

To put it up all you need to do is unlock the travel clip and open up the frame by pulling on the handle.

To put it down you need to push up the black buttons on either side of the frame, and then push down the red button on the right hand side of the pushchair. Then by pushing the frame down it will collapse.

Our Over All Thoughts

Over all we really love our Duo, we find it practical and comfortable for the two wriggle monsters. We adore how sturdy and sound it is. It looks great and has been a real head turner as Granny has taken it out and about. Lot's of people have stopped her to compliment her on her big red wheels and asked all about what brand of pushchair it is. It is safe to say that those who weren't familiar with Easywalker, know all about them know!

I am so impressed that such a big all terrain pushchair can be so light and easy to maneuver. I would highly recommend the Duo for new parents expecting twins or are expecting their second child when they will still need a pushchair.

The Chicco Liteway Review & Giveaway

Back in November I was invited along to the Chicco 2013 launch where the extensive new product range was being unveiled. 

This season Chicco have added lots of colour to their ranges from their baby swings and toys through to their pushchair collection. 

There is a pushchair to suit every budget from modest to the more flamboyant, which opens Chicco up to many parent's and parent's to be. 

Following on from the Chicco Launch I have been sent the Liteway Stroller to trial out with Leo. Leo is at an age where he still needs stroller as although he is a pro at walking, he can’t keep up with me, he gets tired and there is also the issue of him running off whenever he gets the chance.

The Liteway is a clever play on words, a light and easy to manouever stroller that gets baby around comfortably and safely. I have been sent the Liteway in Passion Red, a very visually pleasing colour that makes it look really smart.

Putting the Liteway together is a walk in the park, it is such a simple assembly process and took mere minutes. All that you need to do with this stroller is add the wheels by clicking them into place, attach the hood to the frame with the appropriate grips and viola, a complete Chicco Liteway is ready to go!

My first impressions are just how light the stroller is, it’s easy to navigate and that makes all the difference while nipping to the shops. Especially with my pushchair driving ability. Even now after almost 20 months experience pushing Leo around, I am informed that I need ‘L’ plates…

We have been testing the Liteway out over the past few months now and it is incredibly handy to just pull out as and when you need it. When folded it takes up minimal space so even if you don't have much room to store it, you will be able to sneak it away somewhere or even just leave it in the boot of your car. 

Having a growing toddler in the driving seat it is important to me to find a pushchair that is easy to navigate with this additional weight, and I have found pushing this stroller just that. Easy. It steers well and is great at going up and down curbs.

The brakes are easy to kick on and off with your foot and have been great when I have taken Leo to feed the ducks, obviously I don't want him to spontaneously take a splash! 

Being a light weight stroller it is not the most sturdy pushchair I have ever come across, but to keep it light certain aspects do need to be taken into consideration and allowances need to be made in account for this. So if you are going to be wanting to pile bags of shopping onto the handle bars, you will most likely tip the stroller...But on a brighter note there is a reasonably sized basket that will allow you to pick up bits and pieces on your travels. 

There is a very simple recline feature on the back of the stroller tucked away behind the hood cape, it reclines nice and flat giving your little one the chance for a proper cat nap. The mechanism that induces the recline and incline is a lever that you grip and push either backwards or forwards into the position you desire.

The seat chassis has a foot rest that you can alter with two buttons on either side, should you want more of a seat for an older child or a more flat surface for a younger baby. 

The Liteway comes with it's very own footmuff which is always a bonus, I love it when a company thinks of everything and provides it in the one package. Buying a bundle saves you money in the long run and saves you the time and effort hunting down the correct accessories. 

The footmuff is fleecy on the inside and covered in a outer waterproof layer. With the cold weather we have been making use of the footmuff and honestly I have struggled with it. I have to take into account that Leo is a growing boy, he is not the little baby that he once was, but he does not fit inside the footmuff. The zip will only come up so far and does not do up enough for me to keep him out of the cold. 

I think for a younger child then the footmuff will be great, it is thick and cosy and if Leo was that little bit smaller then I would be able to tuck him up.

The rain cover is great to store away in the basket of this stroller and just whip out at the first sign of rain. Which of course happens rather a lot here in the sunny UK! 

Over all I think this is a handy little stroller for the money and the accessories that come included are a real bonus. It would make a great pushchair for a holiday abroad or even an extra to keep at Nanny's house, but as I have already said, it is perfect to keep in the boot of your car for when you are running about the town.

The Cosatto Yo! Pear Drop Review

Cosatto are well known for their brightly coloured pushchairs with plenty of personality. Cosatto refer to this as their trademark quirkiness and I have to say that I am inclined to agree with them.

I have always loved the Cosatto designs, so when I was presented with the opportunity to put the new Cosatto Yo! to the test, I was more than a little excited. In fact when the new stroller was dropped off with me late last week I could not wait to get it out and take a look at it in the flesh.

Leo and I have been sent the new Yo! Pear Drop to put through it's paces, so while Leo was napping I seized the opportunity to put it together.

The first thing that struck me about the Pear Drop was the gorgeous bright green colouring. It is lovely and a great colour for the Summer (which has finally arrived!) It really does stand out from the crowd. I would be lying if I said I did not get some admiring glances and double takes while pushing this little number around the shops. In fact one lady even went as far as to whisper to her friend 'That is the stroller that I want!'

So is it easy to put together?

For the first time ever I can say yes. Putting the Yo! together is a complete breeze.

I had a flick through the instructions before giving my full attention to our new set of wheels, and within 5 minutes it was all set up and ready to go. The Yo! does not take long to assemble at all and I have to say that out of all of the pushchairs I have had the pleasure of putting together, this is by far the easiest. I simply had to pop each of the wheels onto the chassis, attach the hood and viola - we were ready to head out into the beautiful sunshine that seemed to shine just for us and our shiny new stroller.

The Yo! Pear Drop as the name suggests is entirely themed around the very tasty fruit. It really does look great. It is bright Green and completely delicious. The frame is Aluminium and brushed Silver complimented by a partial black frame. Sitting on top of the frame is the seat unit in the head turning Green and the fruity Pear pattern. 

It takes a matter of seconds to unfold this stroller and is just as simple to put away. When the Yo! is up and ready to go it is incredibly sturdy. I have had other umbrella folds in the past, that I have spent much more money on only to find that they are not very strong. In fact there have been occasions where I thought that lifting it up a curb may result in the frame snapping. This has never happened but not having to worry about picking the Yo! up and down curbs is a real bonus. It is completely solid.

I am a fan of simple, straight forward pushchairs as I am one of those Mummy's you see in the car park trying to put the pushchair back down to fold away in the boot, but just can't seem to find the right button to collapse it. This is not the case with the Yo! It could not be any more simple. 

When folded it is quite long but it fits with plenty of room in the boot of my 206. However if you are in need of more space then you can always pop off the front wheels, and this should allow you to position it perfectly in the boot of your car. 

The Yo! Pear Drop has a fully lined hood that has a UPF of 50+ which has been great in this sunshine. There is a very handy peek a book window which I found brilliant. It allowed me to see exactly what Leo was doing at all times, and we even played a little game of peek a boo, which Leo absolutely loved. 

Now after Leo and I have been putting the Yo! through it's paces I am pleased to report that it has really done us proud. We have been to the park in it, and gone over the field with no problem at all. We have fed the ducks by the river and tested out those all important breaks. They are very simple to pop on with your foot and when on, it is not going anywhere! Which put my mind at ease considering we were pretty close to the river!

We have turned many a head pushing this little beauty down the street, and I know I should now rejoice in their pram envy, but part of me has to anyway. 

I mean look at it!

I have been referring to the Yo! Pear Drop as Leo's First 'Big Boy stroller' and this is because it is the very first and only stroller I have ever owned that does not have the option of facing me. But at 1 whole year old (and a couple of weeks) I think it is high time I let him graduate from facing me and let him look out into the exciting world around him. And guess what! He loves it. 

The Yo! allows Leo to sit completely up right and stare out at everything and everyone that passes by. It steers so smoothly and is sturdy without being heavy. Leo squeals with delight when something catches his eye and is completely safe in the fantastic seat unit that features a chunky 5 point harness. 

The harness can be easily adjusted to one of three different height settings as I discovered when altering the straps for Leo. The seat combines a solid back and a very simple recline/incline with the use of straps that can be tightened and released by a simple clip. When Leo has fallen asleep it is so simple to adjust the Yo! into a recline so he can have his full sleep out.

The Yo! Pear Drop comes with it's very own stylish cosy toes as I mentioned earlier. We are yet to put it into use due to this glorious weather, but I have to say that not only does it look great but it is so very soft and fleecy on the inside and waterproof on the outside! Leo does not always keep his hands in his cosy toes (I discovered this over the winter) and Cosatto have added a very clever kangaroo pocket for those little hands on a cold day. It means Leo will get his own way and have his hands outside, but has the opportunity to hide them away too.

The cosy toes can also be unzipped, leaving the bottom panel which can be used as a reversible seat liner. There is a very fruity pear fabric on one side and a green fleece material on the other, which means you can choose whichever side of the liner that takes your fancy! My favorite side is the Pear as it just looks great and carries on the style of the Yo! The seat liner provides an extra layer of padding to the seat adding additional comfort for little bodies, that can be used throughout the summer, making those little naps that little bit more dreamy.

I have a question for you all. Who of you have ever been caught in a completely un-expected down pour, and reached into your basket to find you have neglected to pack your rain cover? I know I have. So what if I was to tell you that Cosatto have covered this all important base4 by the means of the incredible rain cover bag, that attaches to a special hook by the handle? Because that is exactly what they have done. This bag comes colour coded with the rest of the stroller in the same vibrant green and means you will never forget your rain cover again! 

Now for my all time favourite feature....*drum roll* please!

The Yo! features the most impressive shopping basket I have ever had the pleasure of filling up! It is easily accessible and has a very generous sized basket. I have been taking all of Leo's nappies, drinks and food out in the bottom, which means I don't need a changing bag. This is great as I don't like hanging my bag over the handle bars.

What do Leo and I think over all?

I have found the Cosatto Yo! Pear Drop absolutely fantastic. We have been going everywhere in it, Leo has a comfortable ride and I find it a joy to push around. The padded handles make it soft and easy to grip and the swivel front wheels make it so easy to manoeuvre.

I have not found it easy to push around one handed due to the Two separate handles, but other than this one point I cannot fault this very attractive stroller.
