The Panasonic Pet Monitoring Kit Review

Dalmatian Puppy

As regular readers will know, Several months ago we brought home our spotty dog Lux, and what an adventure that has been! People told me so many times how much harder puppies were than babies, and I shrugged it off thinking that these people were crazy. I quickly realised in the weeks and months that followed though... That they were absolutely, 100%, completely and utterly right, and boy how it pained me to agree with them.

Lux is a whirlwind, he strikes like lightning (but not in the sense that lighting doesn't strike twice.. Because it does...In fact he strikes at every given opportunity.), and he always, always, always keeps us on our toes. The kitchen work surfaces are bare, and there is nothing left within paws reach, and as he has grown the parameters for this have also grown. If it can be pawed then it's fair game. We have lost letters, tea bags, dinner and even money to that puppy of ours.

Dalmatian Puppy

If it can be reached, it can be shredded and destroyed beyond recognition. Not long after we moved into the house I waked into the kitchen and found Lux curled up with Luke's phone and around £300 of cach casually draped around him. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, and very quickly picked it all up before the cash became the latest shred victim. Then there was that time he ran off with an entire box of eggs into the garden and smashed them all up just for fun... I was impressed that he managed to get the box down with all of the eggs all in one piece though...

Dalmatian Puppy

I very quickly felt like I needed an extra pair of hands, not to mention another set of eyes. You can't be around your dog 24/7, and although I am at home with Lux the majority of the time, I do have to work and there are times I need to leave the house without a cheeky dog in tow, and even when I am working in the next room, I can hear mischief unfolding in the kitchen as I try to knuckle down with my to do list... It means stopping, wandering through to the kitchen to see exactly what he is up to.

Then I heard about pet cams, devices that you can use to remotely check in on your pets. This got me really excited because it meant that I could keep an eye on Lux even if I had to pop out for a little while. Our general rule of thumb is that we walk Lux first thing in the morning, especially if we are having to go anywhere that day.

A happy dog is a tired dog after all.

We have been testing the Panasonic Pet Monitoring Kit over the last couple of months, and I have to say what a blessing it is.

The home monitoring kit comes with everything that you need to be able to oversee your entire home, and that means keeping a check on your pets.

It comes with:

- Smart Hub
- Indoor Camera
- Door Sensor
- Smart Plug
- Micro SD Card

Set Up

It was just a case of downloading the Panasonic Home Network app to my iPhone, plugging in the hub and going through the app screen instructions to connect the device.

I found it very easy to get everything set up and it didn't take very long at all, and when I did this I was actually feeling a little bit stressed due to discovering we had received a complaint from our local council about Lux. The complaint was a noise issue and speculated that Lux was barking too much. I found this very hard to believe as I work from home, he get's the walks he needs and he is pretty quiet. So while I was busy setting up our Panasonic Pet Monitoring System, I was hoping this might help me relaxed more about it all.

How we have got on with the Panasonic Pet Monitoring Kit

For the first few weeks we didn't leave Lux at all, because although I was sure that he slept while we were out, I was just too worried to leave him in case another complaint was lodged against him. I was terrified that the complaints would keep being made and the situation would escalate. In true Laura style, I over compensated. I stopped working from home and started working from the parents house instead, that way if any complaints were made... We would have removed ourselves from the scenario and it wouldn't be Lux taking the blame.

It took me a while to feel like I could leave Lux home alone again, especially since I didn't know the nature of the complaint. Was the issue inside the house? Outside? Day? Night? I just didn't know because the details that had been provided to me by the council were very thin on details, and this just made me worry more. I felt very disappointed that whoever had made the complaint had gone straight over my head. I like to think I am an approachable person, and more importantly an approachable neighbor, but instead of talking to me directly about whatever their issue was, so that I could address it head on and know exactly what I was dealing with, they went straight over my head.

We started using the pet cam right away, it was brilliant to be able to keep an eye on Lux while we were in other areas of the house. If I was putting Leo to be and I heard a noise, I could quickly see what Lux was up to and if he did start making a noise, I could intervene and get him to stop as quickly as he started. This is what I mean by over compensating, any noise Lux made, put me on edge. I felt like I was walking on eggshells in my own home all of the time.

When I finally plucked up the courage to leave Lux at home for an hour, I pretty much kept the video feed open the entire time. As I expected, Lux slept while we were out and was so well behaved. I was really thankful to have the video and sound to put my mind at rest while I wasn't at home. I was even keeping a dog diary so that if there was an issue, I could know where we were during that specified time. I took some screen shot of Lux sleeping to back this up on my phone, the amazing thing is that you can use the included SD Card within the home hub to take pictures and videos. At this point I hadn't got it all set up the way I needed it to be to do so.

I have since spoken the council in regards to Lux, and they confirmed that issue was apparently outside, and this to me still seems odd, as Lux is never left outside alone.. But still that was a much more attractive answer than the issue being Lux within the home.

Using the Panasonic Pet Monitor

Having the monitoring system has been such a help to me over the last couple of months, it has helped me find the confidence to be able to leave Lux home alone again. Last week Luke and I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, which is almost 2 hours from us here in Worcestershire. I walked Lux in the morning to make him suitably sleepy, and then we hopped in the car and away we went.

We were gone from 1:30 that afternoon until 9pm that evening, and I really don't like leaving Lux home alone, so being able to check in on him even though we were a long way from home was really reassuring. Every time I checked Lux was still asleep, and he stayed that way until we arrived home.

Panasonic Pet Monitoring Kit Review

Not only can you see your pet on the monitor (even if it is dark!) you can also use the microphone to talk to your pet! I am constantly using this feature to tell Lux to 'Get down' 'Stop' and 'No'. The first time he looked baffled and was searching the room for my voice, now he's just like ' Great... They are watching me again! Busted!'.

What we think of the Panasonic Pet Monitor

I absolutely love this piece of tech, being able to check in even when you are away from home is just the most amazing thing, I cannot put a price on the re-assurance that has been provided through the use of the cam and app, and it has definitely made me feel more confident about leaving him in the circumstances that he cannot come with us.

So many friends and family have seen me checking in and seeing what Lux is up to, they have been amazed that I can see what he is up to even when we are not home, and it is something that is really special.

The video footage provided is brilliant, it stays up to date and doesn't lag which really helps make the experience.

Would I recommend the Panasonic Pet Monitor? YES, yes I would definitely recommend this fabulous piece of equipment and I would not be without it now.

The Panasonic Pet Monitor retails at £199.99.

The Panaonic TZ55 Camera Review

A few months ago I welcomed the Panasonic TZ55 into my life. I was really excited to be trying it out and loved that it was so compact, it was something that I could keep in my bag all the time, and have on hand whenever I needed it.

Up until the arrival of the TZ55 my bridge camera came everywhere with me, and as much as I adore it sometimes it was just too big and not practical for me to take with me. I felt the need to have a compact camera on hand because I could not rely on my iPhone camera thanks to the battery being a 5 minute wonder, so I knew exactly what I was looking for.

The TZ55 arrived in a compact box and had everything I needed to get started. Everything but a memory card that you have to purchase separately. Inside the box you will find:

-          TZ55 Camera
-          Charger
- USB Cable
-          Camera string
-          Instructions & CD ROM

It was ever so easy to get the camera set up, the first thing you need to do is put it on charge until it is fully charged and ready for it's first use. It will then ask you to input date and time information, and then you are ready to get full use out of your camera.

The photo's used throughout this review are those that I have personally taken on the TZ55.

Camera Features:

16MP MOS sensor
20x zoom
Wi-Fi & smartphone connect
Sharper photos
Large tilting screen
Burst shooting

First Impressions & Features

My first impressions were that the TZ55 looked really smart, and I was really impressed with how the camera felt in my hands. You can instantly tell that the TZ55 is a quality made product.

I liked that there were many different settings to choose from depending upon the scene you were trying to shoot. A feature that I really loved is that this camera boasts its own Wi-Fi. I can link my phone onto the Wi-Fi and use it as a remote to take a photo remotely. A great example of when this would be incredibly valuable is when you are wanting to take a family photo, but one person needs to stay behind and operate the camera. Using the TZ55 Wi-Fi, I could simply link it up to my phone and take the photo while being in the photo with everyone else.

Another feature that I loved right away is the screen that you can pop out, in a day and age where selfies are a popular trait of the modern world, Panasonic have ensured that it couldn't be easier to take one. The screen pops right up so that when you turn the camera around to take your selfie, you can see the image before you take the shot so that you can in essence get the exact shot you are looking for.

For the first couple of shots, I took a few photos of Leo around the house, and in all honesty I hadn't been blown away by the quality of the images on each of the different settings.  I hoped that it was just because it was a new camera and I was just getting used to the different shooting options available. I did think that for a £199.95 point and shoot camera the images should be a lot clearer than what I was experiencing, and I decided to just keep going and looking at the images I took along the way, to see if they were improving.

In the months since the TZ55’s arrival, I have taken full advantage of keeping the camera to hand. I love being able to just reach into my bag and know that I always have the equipment to shoot a photo should the need arise. It is definitely a convenience for me, I have taken the TZ55 places I didn't feel I could take my bridge camera. We used it on two recent visit's to Alton Towers, I have used it at home and in the local water park getting shots of Leo just having an amazing time. I even used the TZ55 to record the moment we lit the candles on Leo’s 3rd Birthday cake while I took photos on my bridge camera. It is exactly for moments such as these that I wanted a compact camera to be able to capture these fleeting moments.

I do feel that the pictures I am taking now with the TZ55 are much better than when I first received it, but I do have to say that I did expect more from it. These days I tend to use the automatic setting the most, I did begin with going through the scene settings and choosing the one that was most appropriate to what I was trying to achieve, but I seem to take the best images on the automatic setting.

Over all I do really like the camera, but I do feel that the images could be to a higher standard. I have been through the settings and I have the images set to the highest setting, it may just be that I am expecting too much out of a point and shoot camera, but personally for the money I would expect it to perform to almost the same standard as my bridge camera.

The images aren't bad by any standard and you can see from the images within this review that we have had some great times using it.

The battery life on the TZ55 has been brilliant and has seen us through each of our trips out and about. I cannot fault the over all performance of this camera and although we got off to a rocky start, over all I have really liked Panasonic's latest addition.

You can purchase the Panasonic TZ55 for £199.95 at John Lewis.

Panasonic Brit Bloggers 2014

Last month I received some exciting news. My little blog and I have been chosen as Panasonic Brit Bloggers for the next year for the images category. This means that we will be playing around with some of the latest cameras and camcorders, some even on the verge of release!

I was really excited to be taking part within this section as I love experimenting with my own camera and seeing what comes out as a final result. One thing that always escapes me though is what each of the different settings on my camera does, and when/why they should be used, this is one aspect I am hoping to learn while working with Panasonic over the next 12 months. I hope to use my time as a Brit Blogger to learn more about photography and improve my images over the sessions that will be taking place for myself and the fellow Brit Bloggers.

I was lucky enough to work with Panasonic on their Intelligent Living Mums program last year, so I am no stranger to Panasonic's high values. It was over the duration of last year that I discovered what a remarkable heritage Panasonic is actually based on, and just why Panasonic are so proud of their rather incredible history and founder. Back in 2008 Panasonic won a Which? Heritage award for being the company that has won the most awards across all of the varying categories to date, and it now sits very proudly next to all of their many other awards in their museum based at the Panasonic head office in Bracknell.

On the 25th February the Brit Bloggers team were invited to the Panasonic head office for our very first meeting. Some of the bloggers I have met once or twice before and some were completely new to me but it soon became apparent that I was part of a fantastic group of ladies, and we were going to have a great time getting to know one another and bonding over the technology laid out in front of us.

Panasonic have a wide range of different cameras to suit people from many different walks of life, they offer value for money and different specs to suit different levels of skill. They have super slim cameras, bridge cameras, tough cameras that still have all of the fantastic features but are developed for outdoor use, and are even waterproof and shockproof! They have an entire range of camcorders from entry level right up to the high spec.

Fiona the resident imaging whizz at Panasonic was very welcoming, offered out numerous biscuits and tea (the way to a bloggers heart?) and soon got onto the exciting Panasonic plans for 2014. They have a number of new cameras on the horizon and we spent our visit playing around with a few of them. The group was divided into smaller groups, one using the Lumix TZ55 compact cameras and the other using the W850 Twin camcorder.

I was really impressed by the TZ55, I think mainly because I am so used to my chunky bridge camera that I had forgotten that there is anything smaller in existence. There have been many occasions where I have wished I owned a smaller camera so that I could just discreetly pop it in my handbag and head out. Aside from my bridge camera I only have my temperamental iPhone which usually decides to die as soon as I decide to use the camera. For just heading out to the park or for a day out when you don’t need the added bulk of a big camera, a compact would be perfect.

The size of the TZ55 apart there are a number of other features that I love, one of which is that they use WiFi, this means that you can connect them up to your phone. Why would you want to do this I hear you ask… Well the same question crossed my mind. In a day and age where we love taking selfies and group photos (And let’s face it… We are all guilty of it) Panasonic have developed a way for us to get the most out of our cameras. By connecting our phone to our camera’s WiFi and using the free Panasonic Image App, we can use our phones as a remote control. We can position the camera wherever we want it, and get everyone together for a group photo, and the person taking the photograph can still be in it! In the past I have set the timer on my bridge camera to take a photo and had to run back in time before the flash goes off, and the picture has been taken! Having this added feature is perfect, and because the camera has it’s own WiFi you can do this anytime…Anywhere.

The day was full of hints and tips that we can use to apply to our own photography, and I have definitely come away from the day feeling refreshed and ready to give some new things a try. After a conversation (and lots of giggles) with Lotte at Berice Baby, she planted an idea in my head, an idea about investing in a white photography back drop. Since then I have actually gone on to buy one and I am looking forward at giving it a go to see what results I can get.

I am so excited to be part of the Panasonic Brit Bloggers Imaging team and couldn’t be in better company. The other ladies were fantastic and we had such a great day enjoying each other’s company and chatting all things Panasonic.

You can find the rest of the lovely ladies from the #PanasonicBritBloggers team below, do stop by and say hello!

Leyla from This Day I Love

To epilate? Or not to epilate?

Today I am pleased to welcome Filipa from Gourmet Mum over to guest post for me. Filipa is a fellow Panasonic Intelligent Living Mum and is going to be sharing her recent epilating experience!

A couple of weeks ago when I visited Panasonic as part of the Intelligent Living Mums project, I was given a Panasonic ES-WD54 Epilator in my goodie bag. I was actually really pleased I was given an epilator (honestly) as I've always been of the waxing/epilating/threading ilk. Don't really do shaving... my mum told me it makes the hair grow back thicker which put me off... OK, that's enough information! Ouch ouch ouch, epilators do hurt though!

With our holiday in Portugal vast approaching I have been avidly trying out my new epilator in an attempt not to look like a yettie on the beach. I'm pretty impressed with its performance, in fact so impressed I felt the need to write a review about it, even though it has nothing to do with easy budget recipes, which is what I blog about normally.
OK, let me tell you a little bit about the epilator...
It has 48 tweezers in two rows (they call it dual wide disc technology) which basically speeds up the time it takes to epilate. They can remove fine hairs and hairs as short as 0.5mm long. It's cordless (it charges at the mains) and you can use it dry or on wet skin in the shower or bath. It comes with additional caps for 'beginners', those with sensitive skin, or for epilating sensitive areas. It also comes with a bikini comb and a shaver head attachment, if you chicken out of the pluck pluck!
Here's what I thought of it...
Firstly, it was super quick. I think it must be at least twice as fast as my old epilator, which I bought over 8 years ago. Yes, it still hurts, but  amazingly it is less painful if you use it on wet skin. Plus if you epilate in the shower it's sort of multi-tasking, which is what women do best. Just lather up your legs and go for it. Also if you have a strong coffee 30 minutes before you epilate it helps take the edge off the pain. (That's scientifically proven by  the way) Being quite quick though, the short amount of pain is worth it for a couple of weeks of silky smooth skin. It did banish those short and fine hairs and I found the caps protected the skin under my arms from nips (big ouch) from the tweezers.
So, was there anything I didn't like? Well, you can't use it while it's charging, so this required me to be organised and make sure it's charged beforehand (1 hour of charging gives 40 minutes use). Also, the little drawstring storage bag doesn't offer the epilator and caps much protection. Perhaps a more sturdy zip case would be better?
So, on the whole, I love my new epilator. I would thoroughly recommend it to non-shaving fans. Much cheaper in the long run and more readily available than waxing. Yes, is still hurts, but there is much to gain for a short amount of pain.
Disclaimer: Filipa was provided with the Panasonic ES-WD54 Epilator for the purpose of this review. However all views and opinions expressed are her own.

The Panasonic EW-DS11 - Vibrating Toothbrush Review

I recently visited the Panasonic head office as an Intelligent Living Mum.

This means that over the next 12 months I will be taking part in interactive work shops hosted by Panasonic themselves, and also putting their products through there paces in a series of product reviews.

At the end of our first session we were presented with a bowl, this bowl was a lucky dip in order to determine which product we would each be taking home to test on this occasion. In the bowl were pieces of paper with our fate documented on the front There were bread machines, men’s shavers, women’s epilators and vibrating toothbrushes all to be picked in this prize draw, you could see the horror in the eyes of the ladies who had just pulled out the epilator for review purposes!

I outstretched my hand into the bowl and pulled out my fate.

I was to take home a shiny Red Panasonic EW-DS11 vibrating toothbrush.

We had already been shown the toothbrush in a demonstration a little earlier, and I had been impressed by the nifty little toothbrush’s capability.

The Panasonic EW-DS11 is a compact electronic toothbrush that runs on battery power (1 x AAA - batteries not included). The toothbrush makes the perfect travelling companion with it’s matching lid that keeps the brush it’s self clean and hygienic, ready for the next use. When you see the toothbrush in it’s casing you probably wouldn’t guess that it is actually a toothbrush hiding away in there.

The casing is entirely plastic and comes in a variety of colourings.
- Red
- Black
- Pink

I have a fantastic Red one that just looks great. It is something that you could keep in your bag and no one would actually recognise it as a tooth brush. It could easily pass as an item of makeup that would not look out of place, and because of it’s size it is so easy to transport around with you.

The batteries will last for approximately 90 days based on a consistent usage of around 2 minutes per day, but then if you take into consideration morning and night time brushing then this will most likely be less than the forecast 90 days. I know that I spend longer than this brushing my teeth so I will be popping batteries on a more regular basis. Although I have been using this toothbrush for over a week now and so far the battery is holding up nicely. It is still nifty and I haven’t noticed any change in the operating speed, so I will keep note of how long it lasts before a replacement is required.

I do really like the fact that it runs on batteries as when you are going abroad the last thing you want to do is cart the charging base to your electronic toothbrush with you. And if you were worried that the battery for the toothbrush may run flat while you are away all you need to do is have 1 AAA battery at hand. This is something you could easily take along with you with no added hassle or inconvenience.

The toothbrush boasts 16,000 sonic-vibration brush strokes per minute which helps you work toward cleaner teeth and fresher breath. When I was first introduced to this brush last week, it was on and you could not hear a thing. It was silent all except for a tiny whisper. When it was eventually passed to me, it was only then apparent to me how powerful this little toothbrush was. Many electric toothbrushes that I have used in the past are pretty loud, and in comparison the Panasonic EW-DS11 is nothing at just 37 dBa.

Upon getting home I instantly put my old toothbrush in the bin and switched over to using my new Panasonic brush. Prior to my Panasonic EW-DS11 I was using a simple disposable toothbrush. The first thing I noticed about the Panasonic was that the brush was substantially smaller than on my disposable brush, and the first few uses did feel a little strange due to this.  After a few days of using the Panasonic I soon adapted to the smaller brush and I now feel extremely confident with what the brush can do. In fact because the brush is smaller it can reach to the very back of my mouth and to all the hard to reach tooth surfaces. You do still have to brush effectively or you may miss areas but over all I am very pleased with the range of this tooth brush.

I feel more confident that I am getting a more thorough brushing with the Panasonic. After I have brushed my teeth they do feel fresh and clean, but I have been spending longer brushing my teeth just to make sure I don’t miss an area.

What I really love about this toothbrush is just how stylish it is and that un-like other electronic toothbrushes I have tried at other points the head does not suddenly fall off during mid brushing. Some people may prefer this toothbrush if it featured a rechargeable battery, but for me I was very pleased with the battery and this would not put me off purchasing.

You can purchase your own Panasonic EW-DS11 vibrating toothbrush directly from Panasonic for £40.99.

Disclaimer: I was provided with the Panasonic EW-DS11 for the purpose of this review, however all views and opinions expressed are completely honest and my own.

I Am A Panasonic Intelligent Living Mum!

Panasonic is the largest consumer electronics company in the world, and as of 2012 they have over 15,000 categories of different products available to help make daily life for you and I more simple.

Panasonic is renown for their variety of electronics from televisions to stereos but do you know all about their great selection of home appliance products?

Whether you are familiar with this exciting selection or not over the next 12 months I will be telling you all about them. You see I have been chosen to take part in the very exciting Panasonic Intelligent Living Mums Project.

In this programme I will be taking part in a series of workshops that will be focusing on applying the advanced technology that is available in Panasonic products to real life situations. Being Mummy to Leo I always have a constant need for cleaning up the many messes that he is always creating, so this project is going to be a real eye opener.

The workshops will bring together the full Home Appliances range from microwave ovens, bread makers (everyone's favourite!) small kitchen appliances, irons, washing machines, tumble dryers, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators and personal care products. There really is a vast range dedicated to making our lives that little bit more simple.

Panasonic have chosen 10 Mum's and their blogs for this project, and last Thursday I had the pleasure of meeting the entire team for the very first time. I travelled to Bracknell where the Panasonic Head Office is based and we were warmly welcomed. It has to be said that the Panasonic Offices are as impressive as you would invision them in your minds eye. There are impressive televisions mounted on the walls and they even have their own Costa Coffee available in their canteen, that for me was enough reason to not return to my place of work!

The day was such an eye opener and it was lovely to see how dedicated everyone was. What I really loved was the room dedicated as a museum to past Panasonic products that in today's current technology age would be classed as retro to say the least. When I stepped into this room it was like stepping back in time, the very first double plug adapter, video cameras and mobile phones. It was truly fascinating, as I looked around I could see old VHS players that dated back to my childhood, and I realised that Leo would never know this kind of technology.

The day was spent with very informative members of the Panasonic team, and a big part of our introduction to the exciting Panasonic world was John Hardy, the Sales and Marketing Director. John was more than happy to answer any questions that we had and also fill us in on how the Panasonic company came to be all that it is today.

Panasonic was founded back in 1917 in Japan by a man named Konosuke Matsushita, it was fascinating to see how the company still operate on the same principals today as Konosuke did back in the very beginning. It was clear to me that Panasonic's main aim is to improve people's lives with helpful products that make their customer's lives easier.

It was great to see all of the Home Appliance Products that Panasonic have been working hard on and a few of my favourites were the very smart looking fridge freezer with touch screen dials for all of the controls, the washing machine and tumble dryer and of course not to forget the bread maker.

Their bread maker has actually won the Which Best Buy and is endorsed by the Good Housekeeping Institute. Which have talked about one negative point about this coveted bread maker and that is the fact that there is no viewing panel on the top. Having listened to the reasoning behind this it is clear to me that this is not a negative point, but a positive point. The reason for the bread maker not boasting a viewing window is because it will cause condensation. Condensation that will then fall back onto the dough which will ruin the loaf of bread.

All the Intelligent Living Mum's were asked to bring along a stained item of clothing so that they could work their magic on it. On a normal day in this household we have stains here there and everywhere, but on the one day I require Leo to have dirtied his clothes, he doesn't. So I went through some of Leo's old clothes looking for a suitable item that I could stain up myself. Once this item was located I took the bottle of ketchup in my hand, and I set to work on making a stain. I have to admit, this was very therapeutic!

We each handed over our stained item of clothing, I was pleased to see that I was not the only one who had sunk to the level of staining the item myself, and they were placed in the washing machine so that the magic could be worked on them. Many of the stains vanished completely, but then some of us had gone to extreme lengths and we had a few faint stains left over, however I think if it was given another spin then the ketchup would well and truly come out.

Panasonic's Home Appliance team cooked up a fantastic lunch in their fully functional kitchen using all of their products. The Bread Maker provided us with a number of different loaves of bread, all equally as tasty and delicious, not to mention the home made pizzas, banana loaf and cakes.

I have returned home with a fantastic goodie bag that included a new recipe book that I am looking forward to cooking up some new recipes with, and a new Panasonic HX-DC2 Dual Camera to put to the test over the next 12 months as we carry out product reviews of their new range and meet for product demonstrations at the Panasonic head office itself!

I am very excited to be included in this exciting project and I look forward to sharing this experience with you all. Please pop over to the other Intelligent Living Mum's blogs and say hello!
