Before becoming a Mummy, my life was full of nights out, pretty dresses, high heeled shoes and shopping trips. Of course in the wake of Leo’s arrival, life quietened down.. On the social front anyway. Life became about changing nappies, bottles of milk and muslin cloths. I traded my nights out on the tiles for nights nursing my wakeful baby, and those late lie in’s on the weekend for an early start after a disturbed night’s sleep.
Of
course as rewarding as being a Mummy is, being the very centre of a little
person’s universe can sometimes make you want to pull out your own hair.
Sometimes you need a night off and to leave your ‘Mummy’ tag at home, while you
get dressed up, put on a beautiful dress and try to remember how to walk in
those high heeled shoes that have been cast aside to the bottom of the
wardrobe.
In the
next few weeks I have my works annual party, it’s a chance to get dressed up
and maybe even treat those roots of mine to some colour! The night consists of
tasty food, adult company and maybe a little too much alcohol, but it gives me
the perfect excuse to buy a new dress for the occasion.
Over the
last couple of weeks I have been scouring the internet to find my perfect dress
for the night that I get to let my hair down and dress to the nines. I have
spent the longest time considering my dress budget (because I do NEED a new
dress right!?) and gazing at the range of cheap cocktail dresses from Zalando.
They have such a large selection with many of the dresses within the budget
that I have set myself. Now I just need to narrow it down to one dress out of
the many that I am eyeing up.
Being a
big lover of the Lipsy dress range, I think I may have found a dress worthy of my
work party. This silver cocktail dress.
Nights
out these days are so much more coveted than they once were. They take
organisation and planning, and this for me makes the night of freedom that
extra bit more special.
That dress is stunning!!
