A Cosy Night In

The days are getting colder and the nights are drawing in. 

Winter is finally here.

I absolutely love this time of year with that family crisp chill in the air,

and Jack Frost's icing on every leaf.

It is the perfect excuse for getting the log burner burning, hopping into your favourite onesie, and tucking up under a fleecy blanket with a festive movie and a hot chocolate in hand.

For me a cosy night in consists of the simple things. 

A few candles twinkling upon the fireplace as the log burner heats up the room, and

fairy lights shining from the glass vase in the corner of the lounge.

Simple delights that create a tranquil ambiance.

Dinner would consist of a takeaway, a tasty curry from the local curry house.

Pudding would be the cheeky bar of Cadbury's chocolate hidden away in the fridge, 

followed by a hand warming hot chocolate straight from the boil.

My favourite onesie still warm from the tumble dryer all ready to snuggle into.

And ultimately being home in my own little bubble, hidden away Winter takes it hold on everything in it's path.

For me the perfect cosy night in consists of time for myself.

Time for me to just put my feet up and worry about no one but myself for an hour or so.

Maybe that time will be spent catching up on blog posts, or completely shutting myself off from the rest of the world for that short time.

But now that winter is here I look forward to many, many cosy nights in.

So if I do go quiet for a little longer than usual.

I am still around, just taking a little bit of a breather.

Having a bit of a selfish day,

Just for me.
